I registered for the Chicagoland Series. Where can I verify that I am a part of the Series?
We will update the Chicagoland Series participant series every few weeks as we get closer to the event. You can view the list here.

What is the refund policy?
We have a strict no refund policy. You can view our policy details here.

I am unable to attend the event. Can I defer my event to next year?
Yes, you can! Please click here for more information on how to proceed with a deferral. Please keep in mind that the deferral applies to the same event and same distance only. You will be charged a deferral fee to cover the re-purchase of your un-reusable time-stamped athlete items.

I registered for the Half Marathon but would like to switch to the 10K. / I registered for the 10K but would like to upgrade to the Half Marathon! How can I do that?

I am unable to attend the event. Can I give my bib to my friend to run?
The Chicago Spring Half Marathon and 10K is a USATF sanctioned event and bandit running is prohibited. Please note that runners found to be running without a bib and/or running with a bib that is not theirs will be immediately removed from the course and banned from all Life Time events indefinitely. Those found selling/purchasing a bib (yes, we are checking all third-party platforms) will be banned from all Life Time events indefinitely as well.

PACKET PICK-UP

Where can I pick up my packet for the event?
Please visit our Schedule page for all of the information on locations and hours for the Byline Bank Chicago Spring Half Marathon & 10K packet pickup. 2020 Packet Pickup will be at select Fleet Feet Sports locations, dates and times.

What do I need to bring with me to pick up my packet?
You will need your registration confirmation email and a photo ID. Your race confirmation along with Corral assignment will be emailed to the email address used to register for the event two weeks prior to the event. Bib numbers will be assigned at Packet Pick Up.

What will I receive with my race packet?

  • Bib number with gear check tag
  • Safety pins for your bib number and zip tie for the gear check tag
  • Participant t-shirt
  • Beer Wristband (Participants 21 & over only)*
  • Clear plastic bag for Gear Check.

*Do I have to wear the beer wristband if I have my ID verified at packet pickup?
Yes. For those participants 21 and over who would like to have their ID verified for their complimentary beer wristband at packet pickup, please keep in mind that the volunteer must put on the wristband at that time. You can refuse and have your ID checked on race day, post-race, at either of the two ID Check booths at the finish festival. ID check at packet pick is strictly complimentary to avoid congestion on race day.

I cannot attend packet pickup. Can I have a friend pick up my packet/ Can I pick up a packet for a friend/family member?
Yes, you can! Please make sure to provide the person collecting your packet with a copy of your photo ID and your confirmation email. Packets will not be released to them without these two items. No exceptions!

I cannot attend packet pickup and I do not have anyone that can collect it for me. What can I do?
Not to worry! You may purchase race morning Will Call packet pick-up when you register for the race or as an add on here. Will Call is $40.

I collected my packet but the name on the bib is not mine. What do I do?
We are sorry to hear that you received the incorrect bib. If you are able to do so, please return to packet pickup ASAP to collect your correct packet. If you are unable to do so, please visit us at solutions at the Will Call tent on race morning.

I need to exchange my participant shirt. Where can I do that?
All shirt orders are made based on the selections our participants make when registering. All shirt exchanges will be made post-race out of the Results Tent, only, pending availability. There will be no shirt exchanges made at packet pickup.

Race Information

What is the field limit?

Our course can support a total field of 8,000 athletes.

What do I use at gear check? Can I use my own bag?
You must use the clear plastic bag provided to you at packet pickup for your items. You will not be able to use your backpack at gear check. All items must be in the clear plastic bag – no exceptions. Please close your clear plastic bag and attach your gear check bib tag to the bag prior to checking your bag.

What is at the post-race party?
Post-race party is our Spring Market Finish Festival which includes a gourmet catered hot-breakfast buffet, do-it-yourself flower station, Lagunitas beer garden (must be 21 or over) with live music and local vendors.

Can I use my baby jogger in the Half Marathon or 10K?
Baby joggers are not permitted for the safety of all participants.

Can I wear headphones?
Yes, but they are strongly discouraged. The top three overall males and females will not be eligible for awards if wearing headphones.

What is the difference between Gun Time and Net Time?

Your clock time (Gun Time) starts when the race begins and ends when you cross the finish line timing mat. Overall male and female winners of the half marathon and 10K are determined by the fastest clock time. Your chip time (Net Time) begins when you cross the start line timing mat and ends when you cross the finish line timing mat. Age group awards are determined by the fastest chip time in each division.

How do I know what corral I am in?
Your corral assignment will be placed on your bib number and the assignment is based on the estimated finish time submitted during registration and verified using Athlinks data. You can find all the information you need on Start Corrals here.

Is there a time limit for the Half Marathon/10K?
For your safety and the timely reopening of the streets to vehicular traffic, all participants must cross the finish line by no later than 11:30 a.m.

Are there any pace groups for this event?
The Byline Bank Pace Team will help you get to the Finish Line!  Life Time has partnered with Chicago Endurance Sports  to help you reach your next half marathon personal record at the following pace times:1:30, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20, 2:30, 2:45 and 3:00. There will be no pacers for the 10K.
Look for our friends at Chicago Endurance Sports near the start corrals. Each pacer will be wearing an orange Byline Bank Pace Team shirt and holding a sign with their corresponding finish time.

Post-Race Information

What is at the post-race party?

Where can I see my Results?
Please visit the Results tent post-race. It will be located next to Gear Check. Official results will be available by 5PM on race day on our website’s Results page.

Where can I see my Photos?
Please keep in mind that photos may take up to 48 hours to appear on our Photos page.

Can I register for the 2021 Chicago Spring Half Marathon or 10K at the finish festival?
Yes you can! We definitely recommend you take advantage of early bird pricing by visiting the Marketing booth post-race.
