At Life Time, we’re committed to providing a positive experience for every athlete that participates in our events. Our newest partnership with Dare2tri will ensure that we live up to that commitment by offering a guide pairing service to any athlete that requires one.
Guides are needed to ensure the success of athletes with a visual impairment, or an athlete that requires a guide/support runner. Through our partnership with Dare2tri we can now offer a convenient process of sourcing guides for our athletes, making the Chicago Spring Half Marathon more accessible than ever.
In the registration portal, there is a section regarding your para athlete status. Follow the directions carefully and answer the Y/N prompt when ready. This will help the event team identify your race needs for further action.
In addition to the registration portal, you can send Dare2tri a direct request through the link below. Make sure you provide the following details within your request:
- Specific guide/support runner needs.
- Estimated pace for the distance you plan on participating in or per mile pace.
Next Steps
After you send your guide/support runner requirements, the Dare2tri team will reach out to their network of guides for availability. Guides that are available will then reach out directly to the athlete for a quick chat to see if it’s a good fit. Once the athlete has decided on a guide, they can then reach out to the event team with confirmation to get the guide registered as their race guide.
*To ensure we can fulfill any athlete guide needs, these requests must be made a minimum of 2 weeks prior to race day.
