THE HARDEST PART IS OVER

Congratulations, you have officially started your journey to the finish line! As you put your spring training to the test, Life Time will take a deeper dive into key topics to help accomplish your goals. Throughout the next several weeks, we will provide tips covering the following topics and more!

Feeling like a runner: If you’re new to the sport, welcome! If you are just getting back into the game, congrats! Key pieces of equipment worth investing in are good shoes and apparel to help you feel the part. Watch for our tips on shoe selection and what to wear.
Improving nutrition: To run your best, you need to be well fueled. Life Time’s nutrition experts will share tips to help you master your fuel when it comes to pre-run, post-run, and race-day nutrition.
Get strong & stay injury-free: Cross-training has benefits, with added strength to help you cover the miles. We will review some options on cross training from group fitness to specific exercises from our expert Personal Trainers.
Improve your pace: Add spice to your routine with speed training. By including interval training and tempo running at paces faster than your race-pace, you can build your aerobic engine to power through on race-day.
Build confidence: As you begin to lay down the miles, your physical strength will begin to grow but we also want to focus on building confidence in mental preparation. Integration of simple mindfulness practices in your routine will help you toe the line in May.

As you begin this journey, take a little time to write down your goals, so you can stay mindful of what matters most as you prepare for race-day. Stay tuned for next week’s training tip from Life Time.
